I have been doing a lot of night photography around my apartment complex this quarter so I thought I would share some with you. Here is a stitched and a Gestalt panorama.
Transit is a documentary I started last January. It focuses on mass transit systems and the human behavior within them. I use double exposed negatives to explore this idea, mixing patterns and light with familiar images. I would really love to hear what people think of this concept and how the images look so far, so please feel free to leave comments.
I moved to Denver in June and have found a return of inspiration and energy to photograph the urban landscape that surrounds me. Here are a few of the images I have captured in the past couple of months. The first is a digital image, the building is double exposed 35mm, and the last two are shot with a Hasselblad and slide film.
August was an exciting time for photographers in the Denver area and the 16th Street Mall provided an interesting, easily accessible shooting area for college students like myself who were unable to gain access to the political events. Here are some of the shots I grabbed during that week.
Christmas is just around the corner and every year I go back to Detroit to celebrate with my family. As always I look forward to going downtown and exploring the vacant areas left burnt, abandoned and untouched since the collapse of Detroit's powerful industry. Here are some pictures I took in March of 08. Look for recent pictures to be posted in the beginning of January.
I am currently a photography student attending the Art Institute of Colorado. While in school I would like to focus on fine art and documentary photography. After graduating, I would like to take that background and apply it to conflict zone documentary, capturing my images in a way that can be used in galleries to raise money for causes I feel passionate about.
